Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] vampirefever, I was forced to confront one of my fears button-eyes and plushy faced this morning: fear of stuffed animals.

Then I began to wonder if there was an actual phobia assigned to my fear (well, it's primarily of stuffed animals dressed up like people - your garden variety teddy bear won't make me soil myself or anything, but you show me a Paddington Bear in that little yellow slicker and we're talking heebie jeebies...)

I checked out the list of phobias and found out that there isn't a fancy Greek term for my fear - so I made one up: agriplushiphobia.

There are, however, three different phobias dealing with fear of an erect penis:

Ithyphallophobia- Fear of seeing, thinking about or having an erect penis.
Medorthophobia- Fear of an erect penis.
Phallophobia- Fear of a penis, esp erect.

Bwaaaa???

And this one's just funny:

Lutraphobia- Fear of otters.

Happy St. Patrick's Day - now, stop pinching me, Stoney! Or do it harder.

Spiders? Not lovin' em. Not a horrible phobia, or anything, just don't care to have them crawling on me. Snakes? Scare the ever loving CRAP out of me. Still, to this day, at 34, I keep my feet under the covers 'cause snakes might somehow surround my bed and bite my toes. Seriously. Needles? Don't like 'em (I have tiny, tiny veins - Spike would have to suck hard) but I can deal.

Peanut butter? LOVE it. Not scared of anything I can eat. But I completely walk on the other side of the mall from the "Build a Bear" teddy bear dress up store. I'm a freak.

But the freakiness is part of the charm! *g* Stffed animals is an odd one...I know people afraid of clowns, but that's fairly common...honestly I find them a little offputting myself.

I hear you on the snakes thing...I don't like the venemous ones...the idea of something that could bite me with it's little needly teeth getting me in the night...*shudder*

I actually have fairly large and visible veins. You can totally see them in my wrists and, heh, even my hands. Yet when I needed intravenous anti-biotics a few years ago I got the one nurse who couldn't find a goddamn vein! She poked me like 4 times with the bloody needle before finally passing it off to the other nurse. But that wasn't the source...that was like someone up there going, "afraid of needles, eh? *evil laugh*"
