#10 The Prom (Season Three) Favorite moments: Joyce eyeing the shackles in Angel’s mansion. The Class Protector award. Giles telling Wesley to get over asking Cordy to dance since, “She’s 18 and you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone.” Angel and Buffy dancing to “Wild Horses.” I think I like this episode so much because of my deep love of ceremony and ritual. I love that Jonathan presents Buffy with the Class Protector. The whole "devil dog" plot (mmm...devil dogs...) is beside the point, and I think it's deliberately written that way. Cordy and Xander get some closure, Giles gets to wear a tux (and ain't nuthin' wrong with that) and Buffy finally gets to wear a formal that she hasn't been drowned in or "got hunted" while wearing.
