You know, I've been incredibly lucky in this fandom, and it's certainly something I've always been aware of/thankful for. I'm glad that person I hired to impersonate me in Austin had impressive hair. 'Cause while I was graced with incredibly thick hair with lots and lots of body, I refuse to spend time to make it look like anything other than a big wavy/curly frizzball. You on the other hand, really know how to work it ;o)

Date: 2006-11-16 08:52 pm (UTC)From:Caza had DVR'd all of this season, and I am now caught up on it. (I watched the season premiere twice.) After watching a couple of episodes (both from this season - for some reason the pilot never grabbed me) I gave a grudging, "Okay. It's not bad."
And...go ahead and laugh your butt off...I'm a Dean person. I KNOW!! After all my lip curling over Jensen. Okay, Jensen still wigs me (it's a Texas/Oklahoma thing and bad associations) but Dean cracks my ass up. I like Sam, but I'm not part of the Jared-is-hot school. I want to cut his hair. I'm getting old, Danny.
I love the vibe between the two, Papa Winchester, the backstory, THE FREAKING IMPALA. I am not a car person, but I love that car.
And the music could have totally been chosen by me. When they were playing the Cheap Trick cover the other day, I almost swallowed my tongue with glee.
I need to get caught up on Season One, and there are times when I kick the writers (the "peas" comment at the end of last ep and a few other anvilicious jokes. I know, I'm picky. The thing is, I really like what I've seen of SPN, and I really like "Bones," but I keep expecting a Joss level of writing dialogue-character dynamics and I realize that what I'm asking is unfair.)
But what I've seen so far is really enjoyable, the DP is excellent (whoever he is) and they can make REO Speedwagon references till the cars come home as far as I'm concerned. I'm still a baby in my watching, but I'm hooked. :)

lots of people got hooked by the car and music and boys and decided they could overlook the spotty writing.
so i am NOT saying it'll happen to you, but if you wind up wanting to push sam down in the impala's backseat and deciding that dumb stuff like the pea comment is unimportant compared to the shining perfection of the show's writing when it comes to the family dynamics, i want you to know i will not even give you an i told you so. NOT EVEN. i am SWEET like that.
and also if you need help thinking jared's a sexass, or deciding jensen is not so bad, i can HELP.
although if i'm convincing you of that first i probably shouldn't mention the part where jared's from san antonio. jensen's actually from richardson, which, okay, he can't be all bad if he comes from the place that spawned stoney. :) also in person he is very self-depracating and funny. (reminds me of xander a little bit.)
SO. yes. if you see no other s1 episode, baby, make it Hell House, 1x17. that one will make you have hearts around your head. :)
