dovil inspired bad!fic and some flist love later, I mostly finished part 11. I have to re-read 'cause by the time I finished it, I was singing "Jolene" to stoney321 and e-venting to adis723 and then the lovely elcazavampiros (also having had wine) was reading the first bit of Part 11 and saying "Ooo, that's a great line"...after every line.
New Communities!
adis723 has created that_one_time a community for Buffy fandom drabbles or ficlets of 100-2500 hundred words. Check out the user info for the posting rules. You will probably not see me there, muchly, because keeping myself under 2500 words is an impossibility, but we'll see what happens. oh_riley_factor for Riley centric posts. Whether you're a Captain Cardboard fan or not, you've got to love that community name. Perhaps this will be an excuse for Karabair and I to collaborate on that Riley/Harmony/Spike 3-way we've oft discussed...
And finally,maybe_midgets is a new Anya community. The wallpaper is gorgeous, they need more members and this a great place to keep up with elcazavampiros's Anya's Story.
SPANDER MEME
(This has been around for a bit, but I wanted to do it now that I can get the stupid cut to work.)
01. What was the first Buffy ep you ever saw?
Something from Season 6. I didn't watch when the show was in production, but my husband started watching it in syndication. My best friend had the first few seasons on dvd and I watched Season 1, thinking it was "okay" but once I saw "OMWF" I was hooked. One might go so far as obsessed, okay?
02. Was Spike or Xander the reason you kept watching?
No. Spike was hot, Xander was cute, but no.
03. If not, who/what was?
Joss' writing. It took a while for me to get into the "shippyness" of the characters. I think Willow was actually my first crush (hee) until I saw "Fool for Love" and that fucking head tilt and "What can I tell you, baby? I've always been bad." Yeah, that did it for me.
04. How did you feel about Spike and Xander when you first watched?
Starting with Season 6 was weird. Spike was hot, but even though he was mostly naked, I think he's hotter in Season 5 when he's at his snarkiest. I thought Xander had amazing eyelashes and a great smile, but I wanted to hug him, not straddle him. Then I read Spander and suddenly Xander was shiny and new. I wanted to cover him in sticky, smeary food products and do {cut for possible by reading by husband. Use your imagination.}
05. How did you discover Fanfic, and what was your first?(Author,title,pairing ,rating?)
karabair and uberaeryn suggested that we write some snarky fanfic. I was vaguely aware of fanfic, but I had no idea it was this pervasive. We snarked and karabair, to what I'm now sure is her everlasting regret, threw in a snarky Spike/Xander pairing and I was amused.
06. If your first was het, then what was your first slash? How did you switch? I tried reading Spuffy, but other than a few people I've now friended, most of the Spuffy stuff was asinine or repetetive. I had a brief Spillow phase, and then after Karabair hipped me to slash (I'm sure she's proud), I started googling like crazy to find out about this Spander thing.
07. Who was your original OTP? (Be honest guys. Some of us were spuffys) I was Spuffy, then very briefly Spillow and then Spander.
08. How or what made you switch to Spander?

I read "Long Time Gone" bysecondverse and went from "Spike and Xander?" to "Oh. My. God. Spike and Xander. Yes!" I just really loved that story and it got me into future fic, started me thinking "Buffy, who?" and made me very fannish toward Yin for a long time. Okay, I'm still fannish toward Yin.

All listed on my recs page. If I had to pick one, it would probably be "Repossession" because it's several stories in one.
