Yeah, it's kind of a 'what if Xander was Buffy in S6' with the giving up on life and turning to Spike, but with the traditional man/woman attitudes toward sex.
And thanks for the Giles compliment, I hoped that would work. I know that Tony really wanted to be with his family in the UK, so they had to write him out somehow, but since Giles had no idea they were bringing Buffy back, I couldn't believe he would leave Xan, Will, Tara and a 'bot & surly vampire to guard the Hellmouth. The hell? But I hoped that it would be enough to shake Xander's faith in the "mission." Thank you! *g*
