Proud to be an Obamahoman

Last night I watched my state re-elect a man who believes that global warming is a ratings ploy hatched by The Weather Channel. I watched a national map on CNN that for hours showed my home state as the only glowing red in the smack, dab center of the country (not that I expected Oklahoma to go for Obama, and I knew other central states would follow, but did they have to post our results so early? Damn Oklahomans, all prompt and stuff.) Oklahoma exit polls showed that voters overwhelmingly went for McCain over religious and social issues (note to Oklahoma: you were one of the poor states before the market collapse. I'm calling you on the clue phone, but evidently SW Bell has cut off your service.)

And yet in spite of that, I still awoke to the glorious headline above. I don't see a red state when I look outside my window. I still see blocks of blue Obama signs, and I still smell hope in the air.

Or it could just be pie. It is November, after all. :)

The real question remains: WHAT KIND OF PIE?

THIS KIND!

Pumpkin Pecan Pie

I'm making it for Thanksgiving. I figure it's got to be really, really good, or really, really not! Either way? Memorable.

GOOD GOD A MIGHTY. Two great tastes that taste great together?? (I notice there's no butter in the pecan part. Huh! Tell me how it turns out!)

I still don't know if Missouri is red or blue this morning - haven't turned on my tv! But ooh, man. I am....giddy.

GIDDY!
:)

Well, he does like pie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5L3M8Pn9KU), y'know! ;)

And as a Texan, I know what you mean completely.

Gulf states voted for McCain too. I just cannot understand how people in poor states can think the Republican plan will benefit them. *sigh*

Hey, well, you know, there's something to be said for living in the only state where not one county went for the Democrat. I was buzzing around the NYT county maps a lot last night (because Montana returns took forever to come in) and everywhere else, Utah and Wyoming even, had blue counties. It's a distinction, and the color is right for Oklahoma red-dirt roads, et'c.

Julia, not entirely serious, but also not kidding.

Or pie. I love you.

Yay! I was so elated when I found out Obama was the elect for 2008. Wow :)

You take your like-minded friends where you find them, right next door or on the internet. I remember living in Chapel Hill, NC, which was an island of liberalism in what felt like a wide, *wide* ocean of deep conservatism. We hippy commies clung to each other!

It is a glorious headline!

My phone has not played 'Ghostfacers' all day. REMEDY THAT SUE.

Aww, I thought of you when I looked at the map.

On the plus side, I learned something last night: Colorado is not where I thought it was. *facepalm* That would be Nevada. This is especially appalling in that I've actually been to Denver.

PIE = HOPE. Trufax.

Heh, sounds like most of my family.

But I'm thrilled that you see Obama signs around you; no place is all "red".
