Your Spike and Xander are still men, aren't they? They don't talk about their relationship at all.

Yay! That worked. Xander's used to women defining the relationship, whether it's Faith telling him it was just sex or Anya pushing with, "Our relationship. What kind do we have and where is it going?" Spike doesn't need definition - it just is what it is: Interest. Affection. And that's enough.

Caza and I talked about that scene after I wrote it - that 2 guys (particularly these two guys) wouldn't be all into defining it, and that the lack of definition would make Xander second guess everything. Spike just assumes that Xander's there because he wants to be and...snuggles. Hee. Writing the last chapter right now. Literally? Like ripping out organs.
